My long awaited moment... a Michelin-starred Din Tai Fung near Taipei 101. My favorite, Xiao long bao (XLB) soup dumplings from Din Tai Fung was oh-so-savory! I've been wanting to try this place in Los Angeles, but when I found out they had a Michelin-star restaurant in Taipei, I wanted to wait. Boy, they did not disappoint one bit. I went right when it opened (10 am) to avoid the craziness and the long wait. Other than XLB, I had pork chive dumplings with chili oil (another fave of mine!), pork and shrimp dumplings and cucumber salad. The ginger was so fresh that I would just munch on it. The food was amazing and the bill was equally amazing; less than $20! This is probably one of the cheapest Michelin-star restaurant thus far!
