Pipiwai Trail is part of Haleakala National Park, but the opposite end of the Summit where we drove past Road to Hana to reach our destination. This is by far the easiest hike I have ever been to (2 miles). This hike is through the rainforest and lots of bamboos; prepare to fight off the mosquitoes and spiders. We ended at Waimoku Falls, which was an incredible waterfall to see.
Now getting here was a different story. My boyfriend and I left Kihei at 4am to avoid traffic. I did my research before embarking on this journey. Winding and narrow roads, falling rocks, and locals driving on both lanes are the main things we had to deal with. After driving through here, I can drive anywhere in the United States - that's how crazy it was!
