Satisfy Your Cravings With These Thai Food

Satisfy Your Cravings With These Thai Food

One of the exciting things to do in Thailand is to eat all the different type of food. The best way to eat your way through Chiang Mai is to go to the night markets. An abundant of food can be found in Chiang Mai Gate Night Food Market which opens at 5pm. Tables and chairs are sprawled out in the middle, while the food stalls surround them. Larb, pad thai, sticky rice, sausages and papaya salad are among the many delicious food you will find.

Quench Your Thirst

With the amount of hip cafes in town, you'll never be thirsty.
Of course the staple, thai iced tea is a must!

Roti For Dessert

Pan-fried bread filled with something savory (in this case bananas and chocolate) and topped with sweetened condensed milk is a perfect closing to any meal. This crispy dessert is found in many food night markets in Chiang Mai. If you're craving for something sweet, this is the snack for you!

Lunch Stall

This mom and pop restaurant offers an array of Thai entrees over coconut rice. It can be found anywhere in Chiang Mai. There's no set menu - you'll pick and choose which entrees you'd like. Just be wary of the spiciness of these entrees. Unfortunately, I overestimated my capability for spicy food. I can eat it, but my mouth was literally burning after eating this.

Pork Leg Over Rice

Khao Kha Moo is a very popular dish among the locals and travelers  (thanks to Anthony Bourdain). Essentially, it is pork leg over rice with a side of hard-boiled egg and pickled veggies. The simplicity of the dish definitely caught my attention. The tender pork is the highlight of the dish, as it just melts in your mouth as you eat it.

Khao Soi

Another popular food stall in Chiang Mai is where khao soi is served. Made differently compared to Lao khao soi as this one has more of a coconut curry soup base and yellow flat noodles. Served with onions and pickled mustard greens. It was so good that I had two bowls and paired well with the longan drink.
