The Hottest and Oldest Geothermal Hotspots on Earth

 

Norris Geyser Basin is the hottest thermal area in Yellowstone. Located 25mi (40.2km) from the west entrance, and it is also on the way to the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone and Mammoth Hot Spring. The continuous change in temperature that goes up to 192°F (88°C)., makes it one of the most extreme environments on Earth. The best way to see these basins is to follow the pathway that surrounds the area.

 
 

The colors are vibrant and beautiful during sunrise or sunset.

This is the only area where steam was just a constant feature and widely spread out. It literally feels like you’re in a middle of a whole bunch of boiling tubs.
