Bún bò Huế is a popular Vietnamese soup that has vermicelli noodles and beef. It is served with lime, cilantro, onions, mint, basil, and bean sprouts. This is my favorite soup out of all the Vietnamese soups I've had. Just 10-15 minutes by taxi from District 1 is Song Anh restaurant that specializes in Bún bò Huế. Found it by mistake as I was walking, trying to look for local food vendors.
The best part of the soup is the broth. The broth has a good heat to it without over doing it. Usually, the broth is redder, but this one is much clearer and orange. The soup tastes cleaner compared to the ones I've had in the States. The meat was tender and vermicelli noodles weren't soggy or too soft. Definitely hits the spot!
