Eating The Staple Dish in Cebu
You can't come to Cebu without trying their Lechon (roasted pig). This is what their known for. Yes, it's fatty, oily and will probably hike up your cholesterol, but what the heck?! It's totally worth it and will keep you wanting for more. There are tons of places to eat Lechon. I went to Zubuchon, which was close to Costabella Resort. I'm one of those people that love sauces in their food and so, I was a little bummed when I found out that I'm supposed to just eat it without the Filipino pork sauce called Mang Tomas. They said that really good Lechon doesn't need the sauce and the flavors itself will be as good. Yea, they were right. It's as good without the sauce.
Lechon is roasted over charcoal. It's served as a whole pig or chopped and ready to eat. I love the skin because it's the crunchiest part of the Lechon. Each bite is sensational. Crunchy on the outside and juicy in the inside.
A staple in Cebu that should never be overlooked.
