Largest Monastery In Taiwan
This was my favorite part of my trip to Kaohsiung. I was really amazed by the beauty of this monastery and having that it's the largest monastery in Taiwan. I took a bus (#8501 E-Da) from Zuoying High Speed Rail Station to Fo Guang Shan, which was about 30 minutes one-way. As soon as I arrived, I made my way straight to the Buddha. It was huge from afar, but I still couldn't believe how stunning it looks up close. Everything about Fo Guang Shan was so peaceful and serene. I saw several shrines including the Jade Buddha, but photography was not allowed indoors. I also experienced my first Buddhist ceremony. Although I didn't understand the language, it felt calming to be in that environment.
